Domain Registration

Domain registration involves working with Domain Registries, like Nominet, to be sure that you 'own' that domain for the specified period. Each domain extension (the .com part of a domain name) has a registration body to police the allocation of domains and protect their usage. It is important that each of these bodies is dealt with appropriately or else the domain registration may be invalid.

Some domain extensions are available globally (such as .com), however some are restricted to organisations that operate from specific geographies (such as the French .fr).
